Every time I read another fantastic post from The Tempered Radical, Assorted Stuff, Larry Ferlazzo, or dozens of other teacher-bloggers, I become more and more amazed that these folks manage to be such thoughtful and informed writers while still planning/teaching/grading/meeting (and all of the other verbs that dominate my day-to-day life as a classroom teacher).  How do they do it?

I spend most of my time (which, like most of the educators I respect, is more than 40 60 80 hours a week) either keeping on top of discussions in my PLN or writing lesson plans and assessing where my students are or completing the mountains of paperwork and documentation required of us.  What’s left I try to spend with my family.

The only chance I get to work on my writing, pushing my thinking and crystallizing the ideas in my head, is when I am on my track-out breaks every nine weeks.  This frustrates me, but I don’t know how to carve out any more time for blogging.  In the end, I guess I’ll have to settle for posting on an infrequent schedule and make the most of the time that I have available.

That won’t stop me from envying the writing abilities and juggling skills of the bloggers in my RSS feed.
